A Milestone in Connectivity: Shettima and Fubara Commission 33.5Km Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road
In a major boost to regional trade and transport infrastructure, the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, alongside the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Thursday officially commissioned the newly dualized 33.5-kilometer Elele-Egbeda-Omoku road. This landmark project, which marks a significant milestone in the infrastructural landscape of Rivers State, is poised to dramatically enhance economic activities and improve the quality of life for thousands of residents.
The Elele-Egbeda-Omoku dual-carriageway serves as a critical transit corridor, seamlessly linking several vibrant communities across the Ikwerre, Emohua, and Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni Local Government Areas (LGAs). These areas, known for their rich agrarian output and substantial contribution to the nation’s oil and gas sectors, have long anticipated a robust transport network to unlock their full economic potentials.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Vice President Kashim Shettima lauded Governor Fubara’s unwavering commitment to people-oriented governance.
