Founder/General Overseer of World Evangelism Bible Church Inc (WEBIC), Prophet Samson Ayorinde recently returned to Nigeria after spending a week in Equatorial Guinea on Apostolic visit. He was invited to the Central African country by a Christian association comprising many churches. He coordinated a five-day crusade in the Spanish-speaking country.
He spoke with journalists in his church’s Lagos headquarters where he also addressed recent developments in Nigeria.
Shedding more light on the visit, he said: “The Christian association in Equatorial Guinea must have learnt about WEBIC and crusades. I received an invitation to come over there to preach the gospel from August 5th to 9th. Unlike Nigeria where my crusades were held in the stadium, this time around it was in a big gallery. The official language in Equatorial Guinea is Spanish, but there were Interpreters .The gathering was from 5pm to 9pm.”
On the attendance, Ayorinde said it was wonderful. The gallery was filled to the brim.
“I arrived in Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday, August 4th, was received at the Malabo Airport by officials of the Christian association. I did counselling until 1am on Wednesday. People were trooping in to listen to my messages. The crusade was held in the evening. No power outage. Security was perfect. You can leave your key in your vehicle, nothing will happen to it.
“The crusade witnessed manifestations of the gospel, deliverance, healings, signs and wonders. Many souls gave their lives to Christ. Those who were depressed were healed,” he said.
Besides the crusade, Ayorinde also spoke about what he observed in that country.
“Security is perfect. Agriculture is thriving in Equatorial Guinea. The soil is fertile. I was told farmers don’t have a need for fertilisers. Food is cheap, available and affordable,” he noted.
When asked if he would return to the country any time, the General Overseer said he plans to go back next year for a bigger crusade.
Aside the crusade, Ayorinde spoke on recent developments in Nigeria especially the governorship election held in Osun State on August 15th.There was heightened tension weeks before the exercise among the politicians and their supporters. Many people were killed. Security was tight on election day to avoid more bloodshed. it was like a test case for the general elections slated for early next year. No fewer than 17 political groups participated in the election. At the end of the exercise, the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke secured a second term.
On his assessment of the election, Ayorinde said President Bola Tinubu should be commended for deploying enough security to reduce bloodshed and calling Governor Adeleke on his re-election, though the governor is the candidate of the Accord Party, beating Mr Bola Oyebamiji who is from the President’s All Progressive Congress.
“The President’s action shows that he is a democrat and a pointer to what would happen in next year’s general elections. He should be praised for showing maturity,” he said.
On WEBIC, Ayorinde said a youth programme was held between August 29 and 30. According to him, it’s the youth summer retreat. He said the biggest event in the church this year is the 31st Mantle (convention) slated for the first week in November when all members worldwide would converge on the Lagos headquarters for one week. He said the major highlight is to honour two members (male and female). He informed that after the Mantle is the church’s No Carry Over New Year Service.
