Abdulkadir Danbuga, the member of the National Assembly representing Isa-Sabon-Birnin Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, has died, leaving a legislative seat empty.
The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) confirmed Danbuga’s death on Wednesday.
“A serving member of the House of Representatives Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga representing Isa and Sabon Birnin Federal Constituency in Sokoto State died Wednesday morning after a brief illness,” the NTA posted on its social media pages on Wednesday afternoon.

The National Assembly’s website had very little information on the legislator when FIJ checked.

Aminu Almustapha, representing Sabon Birnin South constituency at the Sokoto State House of Assembly, told a Daily Trust reporter that Danbuga died in a hospital.
“His remains would be taken to the National Mosque for the bathing ritual, after which it would be flown to Sokoto for burial around 11 am,” Almustapha said.
