In order to address societal problems and ensure a better country free of calamities, Nigerian couples have been admonished to endure one another and nurture their children in godly ways.
Yusuf Olaolu Ali, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who gave the advice on Sunday at the presentation of a book, “THE HOME MANAGER,” written by Hauwa Fumilay Tajudeen, also enjoined women to be submissive to their husbands.
Ali, the special guest of honour at the event, noted that God is faithful to all, adding that there was no perfect marriage anywhere, but that women have to make marriages adorable and lively.
He adding that women play pivotal roles in nation building in that whatever they inculcate into their children will manifest as they grow up.
“The couple should endure one another. They need to be more cordial and shun acts that are likely to inflict conflict so as to have a better and peaceful home. Women have to check their behaviors towards men and as well be loyal and respectful,” said Ali.
Speaking to BusinessDay on what motivated her to write the book, Hauwa Fumilayo Tajudeen, the author, explained that she was more concerned about issues affecting women and children in the society.
According to her, women are very important in the society, while the home is essential for peaceful coexistence of a given community.
” In the book ” The Home Manager,” I pointed out some of the issues that will be of help to our women to have happy homes because whatever dictates in homes will reflect in the society, so we have to get it right from home,” she said.
“Let us make, build our homes and train our children so that they will not be a nuisance in the society. The issues of banditry, cultism, kidnapping and other social vices come from various homes.
“So, if we are able to build our homes as a woman, mother, caring wife, and as a responsible woman, then we will make a very congenital and amenable society for all of us to live in.”
She advised women to be responsible to their roles as a mothers and first teachers to their wards for them to build a better and productive society.
